Catalyst 3850 repair and refurbishment
The Cisco Catalyst 3850 is an end-of-sale managed Layer 2/Layer 3 enterprise switch that was the predecessor to the current Catalyst 9300. Available in 24-port and 48-port configurations with PoE+ and StackWise-480 stacking, the 3850 was widely deployed as a converged access switch supporting both wired and wireless traffic. Migration to the Catalyst 9300 requires new hardware, DNA licences, and network reconfiguration. We carry out component-level repair on Catalyst 3850 units.
Common Catalyst 3850 faults we fix
-
Power circuitry faults — the most common hardware failure, particularly on units operating under heavy PoE load
-
StackWise-480 stacking module faults disrupting stack ring connectivity
-
UADP ASIC overheating from inadequate airflow in densely packed rack environments
-
Boot faults caused by flash memory failure or power corruption on the boot circuit

Catalyst 3850 repair FAQs
Is the Catalyst 3850 still available new?
No. The Catalyst 3850 is end-of-sale. Migration to the Catalyst 9300 requires new hardware and DNA subscription licences. Our repair service returns the original unit to service.
My 3850 is overheating — is this a hardware fault?
Overheating can be caused by internal cooling failure, blocked airflow in the rack, or ASIC thermal issues. We diagnose the root cause and carry out the appropriate repair.
My 3850 will not boot — can you repair it?
Yes. Boot failures are commonly caused by flash memory failure or power corruption on the boot circuit. We diagnose the hardware fault and carry out the component-level repair.
