Overview

GP4000 repair and refurbishment

The Pro-face GP4000 series, with the GP-4501T 10.4-inch as the most popular model, is entering end-of-sales as Schneider Electric directs customers toward the GP6000 and ST6000 replacements. The GP4000 uses LED backlights, but the LCD panel itself has been identified as a high failure rate component by repair specialists. LCD panel degradation — rather than backlight failure — is the dominant fault on this series, requiring full LCD replacement.

Expertise

Common GP4000 faults we fix

  • LCD panel degradation identified as a high failure rate component — causing display artefacts, colour shift, dead pixels, or partial screen blanking

  • Resistive touchscreen digitizer wear causing dead spots and calibration drift after extended industrial use

  • Power supply faults from electrolytic capacitor degradation causing intermittent operation or failure to start

  • Communication port failures affecting connections to multi-vendor PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi)

FAQ

GP4000 repair FAQs

Can you replace the LCD on a Pro-face GP4000?

Yes. LCD panel failure is the most common GP4000 fault. We source aftermarket LCD panels and carry out full replacements with functional verification and touchscreen recalibration before return.

Is the GP4000 being discontinued?

Yes. Schneider Electric is directing customers toward the GP6000 and ST6000 series as replacements. As the GP4000 exits production, third-party repair becomes the primary option for keeping existing installations operational.

My GP4000 connects to a Siemens PLC — can you still repair it?

Yes. Pro-face panels are brand-agnostic and connect to PLCs from multiple manufacturers. The PLC connection does not affect our ability to repair the panel hardware itself.
