Custom Power Supply for Obsolete Jacquard PSU
The Challenge:
A client's Jacquard weaving machine was out of operation due to a failed, obsolete Power Supply Unit (PSU). While other repair services had offered a standard replacement solution, it came with a critical flaw: the replacement PSU would cause the machine to lose all its programming and operational data every time it was power-cycled. This required a lengthy and costly reprogramming process at every start-up, making the "solution" impractical for daily use.
Our Solution:
We identified the root cause of the data-loss issue in the common replacement units. Instead of using this flawed fix, we engineered a completely custom power supply solution from the ground up. Our approach focused on creating a stable and reliable PSU that seamlessly integrated with the Jacquard's memory modules. We designed the unit to maintain power to the critical memory circuits correctly during shut-down and start-up, ensuring data integrity was preserved.
