Terms and Conditions
1. The Quoting Process

1.1. Initial Assessment: All devices (VFDs, PCBs) submitted to Electron Lab undergo an initial assessment to determine the nature of the fault.
1.2. "No Fix, No Fee": Our initial assessment is offered on a "No Fix, No Fee" basis. If we determine that your device is un-refurbishable or that we cannot source the necessary components, there will be no diagnostic or assessment charge.
1.3. Formal Quote: Following a successful assessment, we will provide you with a formal quote detailing the cost of the full refurbishment service. This quote is valid for 30 days.

2. Payment Terms

2.1. Upfront Payment: To commence work, an upfront, non-refundable payment of 50% of the total quoted price is required. This payment covers the initial cost of components and secures your place in our workflow. Work will not begin until this payment has been received.
2.2. Final Payment: The remaining 50% of the balance is due upon completion of the refurbishment and successful final testing.

3. Shipping and Collection

3.1. Shipping to Us: The customer is responsible for the cost and safe delivery of their device to our workshop. We recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service.
3.2. Return Shipping (Quote Accepted): For all completed refurbishments where the quote has been accepted and paid in full, Electron Lab will cover the cost of standard return shipping to the customer's UK address.
3.3. Return Shipping (Quote Rejected): If you do not accept the refurbishment quote, you are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of return shipping for your device. We can arrange this on your behalf at your expense, or you can arrange your own courier.

4. Completion and Retention of Goods (Lien)

4.1. Notification of Completion: We will notify you via email once your device has been refurbished and is ready for dispatch.
4.2. Retention of Goods: Electron Lab will retain possession of the refurbished device until the final payment has been received in full and funds have cleared.
4.3. Title of Goods: Title and ownership of any components used remain with Electron Lab until full payment is received.

5. Uncollected Goods Policy

5.1. Notice Period: If a device remains uncollected or if return shipping is not paid for (in the case of a rejected quote) for a period of 90 days after we have notified you that the quote is ready or the work is complete, we will consider the goods abandoned.
5.2. Notice of Intent to Sell: We will make reasonable attempts to contact you via email. After the 90-day period, we will send a final formal notice to your last known email address, stating our intention to sell the device to recover our costs.
5.3. Sale of Goods: If the device is not collected within a further 30 days after the final notice, Electron Lab reserves the right to sell the device. The proceeds will be used to cover the costs of the quotation, repair, storage, and sale. Any remaining balance will be returned to you.

6. Warranty

6.1. Warranty Coverage: All completed VFD refurbishments are backed by our 2-Year Warranty. The full terms, conditions, and exclusions of this warranty are available upon request and will be provided with your final invoice.

6.2. Warranty Exclusions: Our warranty covers the refurbishment work performed and the components we replace. It does not cover faults arising from misuse, improper installation, power surges, or other external factors.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1. Liability Limit: Electron Lab's liability in respect of any single device shall be limited to the total value of the service fee paid for that device's refurbishment.

7.2. Consequential Loss: We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit, loss of business, or operational downtime arising from a faulty unit.

7.3. Client Responsibility: While we take all reasonable precautions, the client is responsible for ensuring that any configuration data or parameters are backed up before sending the device to us, where possible.

8. Events Beyond Our Control

8.1. Force Majeure: We shall not be held liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations if the delay or failure results from events or circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, strikes, accidents, war, fire, or failure of a third-party component supplier.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

9.1. Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

9.2. Jurisdiction: The parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with this agreement.
