NS Series repair and refurbishment
The Omron NS series has been formally discontinued and replaced by the NA5 series, creating immediate repair demand for the NS5 through NS15 range. These panels are common in UK packaging machinery and discrete manufacturing. The NS8-TV00-V2 is a frequently traded model. Older NS5-SQ models used CCFL backlights with dramatically shortened life at low temperatures — rated at just 10,000 hours at 0°C compared to 50,000 hours at 25°C.

My NS5-SQ was installed in a cold environment and the screen is very dim — what happened?
The NS5-SQ uses CCFL backlights with dramatically reduced life at low temperatures. At 0°C, the rated lamp life is significantly shortened, causing premature failure in continuous operation. We carry out backlight replacement and LED conversion to address this.
Is the Omron NB series worth repairing?
Generally no. The NB series is often too inexpensive to justify repair economics in most cases. We would typically recommend replacement rather than repair for NB series units.
