Emerson Control Techniques drive repair and refurbishment.
If your drive carries an Emerson nameplate, you are in the right place. Emerson-branded drives are Control Techniques hardware — and we repair them at component level.
Emerson Control Techniques drives
Emerson-branded Commander and Unidrive models are electrically identical to their Control Techniques equivalents, allowing us to perform the exact same component-level repairs and testing.
Common faults we fix on Emerson drives
-
IGBT inverter bridge failure — the same primary failure mode as on Control Techniques-branded drives, as the power stage hardware is identical
-
DC bus electrolytic capacitor degradation — making capacitor ageing a common wear-related failure
-
Gate driver board faults causing erratic IGBT switching, manifesting as overcurrent trips under varying load
-
Operator keypad and display failure — common in Emerson Commander SK units where the keypad has been subject to years of industrial use

Emerson drive repair FAQs
Why does my drive say Emerson, not Control Techniques?
Control Techniques was owned by Emerson Electric between 1994 and 2017. During that period, drives were sold under the Emerson or Emerson Control Techniques brand in some markets. The hardware is identical to Control Techniques-branded drives.
Can you repair an Emerson-branded Unidrive SP?
Yes. The Emerson Unidrive SP is the same drive as the Control Techniques Unidrive SP. Our repair capabilities, component sources, and test procedures are identical. See the Unidrive SP repair page for full details.
Are Emerson and Control Techniques drives the same hardware?
Yes. The Commander SK, Unidrive SP, and Unidrive M-series sold under the Emerson nameplate are mechanically and electrically identical to the same models sold as Control Techniques. There is no difference in how we approach the repair.
