Vacon variable speed drive repair and refurbishment.
Component-level repair and refurbishment for Vacon NX and Vacon 100 series drives. Engineer-led diagnostics, no fix no fee.
Vacon (Danfoss Group) drives
Vacon drives, now part of the Danfoss Group following the 2014 acquisition, remain a widely deployed platform in UK manufacturing and infrastructure. The NXS, NXP, Vacon 100, and Vacon 10/20 ranges are distinct drives from the Danfoss FC/VLT series — and continue to be supported and sold under the Vacon brand.
Common faults we fix on Vacon drives
-
APBU or APFIFF control board failure — a common fault on NX-series drives causing communication loss, parameter errors, or drive inhibit conditions
-
Power unit IGBT failure in the inverter stage — presenting as overcurrent or earth fault alarms, typically following a supply transient or sustained overload
-
OPTC or option board failure affecting fieldbus interfaces (PROFIBUS, EtherNet/IP) used in automated production systems
-
Cooling fan failure on larger NXP and Vacon 100 frames causing thermal derating, particularly in continuous-duty applications

Vacon drive repair FAQs
Is Vacon now the same as Danfoss?
Vacon is owned by the Danfoss Group following its acquisition in 2014, but continues as a distinct product line. Vacon NXS, NXP, and 100-series drives are different products from Danfoss FC/VLT drives and require different repair expertise.
Do you repair Vacon NX-series drives with fieldbus option card faults?
Yes. OPTC and other option board failures are within our repair scope. We test both the base drive and option boards to identify the specific failure before quoting.
Can you repair a Vacon drive that will not communicate on PROFIBUS?
Communication failures on Vacon drives are often caused by a faulty option board or a control card fault. We carry out a bench diagnostic to trace the fault to its source.
What warranty do you offer on Vacon drive repairs?
We provide a 2-year warranty on all completed repairs, covering the components replaced and the work carried out.
